1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us, including:

• Account information (name, email address, password)
• Institution, faculty and course information
• Project topics, case studies, outlines and the drafts generated for you
• Data you upload for a project: questionnaire responses, results tables and readings
• The name you ask us to print on a title page
• Payment information (processed securely by our payment providers)
• Communications you send to us

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve our services
• Find sources and generate the draft of your project
• Process payments and send transaction confirmations
• Send you technical notices and support messages
• Respond to your comments and questions

3. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your personal information. Connections to the site are encrypted, passwords are stored hashed, and card details are handled by Paystack and never reach our servers. No system is completely secure, so we cannot promise that a breach will never happen.

4. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active. A project with no activity for 12 months is flagged and we email you; one inactive for 15 months is deleted. You can delete your account at any time from Settings: your profile, sign in details and projects are deleted, and your payment records are kept as financial records with your name and other identifying details removed.

5. Third-Party Services

The site runs on Vercel and its database is hosted by Neon, so both process the data described here. Vercel Analytics counts page views. We use Paystack for payments and Resend for transactional email. Paystack receives the contact and transaction data needed to process a payment; Resend receives the destination address and message. Project generation uses models reached through OpenRouter, which receives project content such as the topic, case study, proposed methodology, outline, research questions, draft excerpts, source metadata and, where you upload data, the summary tables computed from your responses or the results tables you enter. Passwords, authentication secrets and payment credentials are not included in model prompts. Each model request asks OpenRouter to route only to endpoints that deny data collection and advertise zero data retention. This does not keep the prompt local: OpenRouter, the routed inference provider, and any requested web-search provider still process it. To check reported sources, we also send DOI queries to doi.org/Crossref and request public source links. Optional operational monitoring receives only bounded, redacted metadata, never full prompts, tokens, payment secrets or passwords.
